The Black Cat Café is located in
The Courtyard, 2 Dale Road.
Leave Crown Square and cross the River Derwent using the road bridge.
Turn left into Dale Road.
The Courtyard can be found across the
road opposite HSBC Bank.
The Courtyard
The Courtyard stands within the 2 Dale Road, the site of the former Queens Head.
It is thought that a hostelry of some description has occupied this site since the late 1700's. The existing building dates from Victorian times and the Courtyard is sited in what was the original stabling for the hotel.
Being set back from the road the Black Cat Café offers a relatively peaceful location for enjoying lunch or a coffee break at any time of the day. When the weather is fine we make use of the courtyard itself for serving our meals and drinks.
